RICS Valuation
If you purchased a home through the Help to Buy scheme, you’ll need an RICS-registered valuation when repaying your loan, remortgaging, or selling. This independent valuation determines the current market value of your property, which is used to calculate your repayment amount. If your home’s value has increased, so will the repayment, but if it has decreased, you’ll owe less. The valuation is valid for three months, so timing is key.
